...as a newbie to boating and having only been out a few times over the winter, yesterday was my first time with nice weather and less than f4 winds so I thought I would make the most of it, and that sea was so flat in places.

Headed down from the River Itchen over to Newtown Creek where we picked up a buoy for rest stop and took some pics. Now I have been here twice before in the winter in my short boating life and there has never been a sole about except for a couple of sea lions so it was different to see quite a few boats there, I know it gets packed in the summer.

We then headed off up the Hamble for some lunch before heading home...

all in all a great day out!

Nice post, great pics. Would have been out as well if it wasn't for SWMBO being on a bloody spa weekend! Was down at Mercury with my daughter & had good times mucking around with our dingy so not all lost!

IMO those Suzuki engines are superb, I had a DF90 on my last boat... so economical & smooth & 100% reliable..

PS. nice wake shot ;)

Flat calm it was, 'til you got there with your bl***y wash!! Bet the raggies loved it!!!

No apologies they were seals. Either way they both belong to the scientific order Pinnipedia, surely everyone knows that ;)

I am sure lots of people do but it would have been worthy of note if sea lions had been spotted in the Solent. The seals can now rest easy though that there is no sudden insurgence of a non native species - and Longleat can stop their head count...
