Solent - water & fish

Question 1 -- what kind of fish are in the Solent & would you eat them?
Qestion 2 -- does the same water just come back and forward .. or does the bathwater get changed?

Yes........depending on wether you've emptied your holding tank or not

Yes but probably gets mixed with other peoples bath water by the time it comes back. Still, they do say variety is the spice of life

The Irish Sea apparently takes 16 months to flush out all the old water. This is really good news with Windscale and Heysham pumping their shite in - mind you its good for the fishing as they grow to enormous sizes and love the warm waters by the outlet pipes.

Hmm well thats ok if you like your fish to have five eyes and 2 tails! The solents not too bad.....its quite a free flowing sewer

A friends son who is studing marine things at Southampton uni has said that there is Salmon, Bass, Plaice and Oysters in the Solent. The water has to be fairly clean for the oysters to survive, so the fish should be ok to eat.

There are loads of fish in the solent, Bass,Thornback rays, Cod, whiting, flatties, conger, to name a few. I have fished in the solent for over 20 years and eat the good size fish with on ill effects.
