The 5 numbered marks at the start, are we supposed to round those in order? Normally race marks at yellow and have instructions which side to pass, so I suspect not.

that looks quite straightforward, they aren't part of the race. Phew!

Do you know if these marks are just to be left to port or do we have to sail east of a line between them? Suppose I will find out as it's unlikely I'll be at the front.

The purple marks near the start are usually used for practice racing in the days leading up to the race. RainbowChaser tends to organise them via the chat window. They should disappear in the hour before the real start.
Check out Greatskua and RainbowChaser's trails.. you'll see they have just been around those purple marks.

I went round them too before I started off, don't think you can see my trail that far back. Nightmare to start a race if you can't be there realtime, as delayed commands that close together....well, no....

I have just noticed that Brain's DC Editor now automatically transfers DC's from SOL. Which is good.
