So summer is coming what’s the plan

Hopefully the schools will stay open and keep the numbers down a bit in May June and early July. Last year it felt like a three month school holiday with everywhere packed.

I do hope we’ll be allowed abroad as the Belgian coast is a bit limited to spend 6 weeks.
It’s been a couple of years since I last was in Britain, so it would be nice to revisit some places and fill in some gaps, but what with the B and the C thing I’m afraid it may be another year.
We’ll see.
B&C thing - I will optimistically interpret that as “Bacardi & Coke”

With so many changes to flitting abroad and of course the dreaded virus what are you planning for this year’s cruising?
Will it be sit aboard in the marina sipping g&t with a little local sailing thrown in

or

something more adventurous around the coastline
I know of a Welsh contingent that are planning an invasion of your Isles for early June.

One of the group intend to get hitched . I might need some local insider knowledge for a suitable post wedding treat. Is it OK to PM you Pete?
Steve.

Will we be allowed back to Heaven (aka IoS) this year? I would jolly well hope so... we need some recharging of our spiritual batteries.

I don’t care if it’s poole harbour, Isle of Wight or west country cruising, I’ll be happy to be out and about on the boat. Currently she is down Plymouth being renovated by Yacht Solutions so cannot wait to get her back and out On the water. Might give paddle boarding a go whilst at anchor, seen a lot of people doing it so why not try it....

Painting and varnishing from April 8th onward. Club cruise to the west country in July. I really want to do Scilly and Ireland but I suspect that wont be this year. Although, IF I convince one of my sons to join for a week or two that might be doable.

At the moment, I would gladly take just being able to visit my boat (NL) at some point this summer. Here's hoping that everyone's plans come to fruition. ??

I don't see any mention of the Channel Islands; hoping they'll be keen to see us...
I suspect Guernsey will stay off limits. Jersey have introduced a traffic light scheme, but what they fail to make clear is that everywhere is still red, so 10/14 days isolation and 2 covid tests as well as a negative test before arrival. But I suspect that will change before the summer, hopefully.

Stuck for a year on my circumnavigation in Jakarta Indonesia , my hope and goal is to cross the Southern Indian Ocean to Madagascar when the cyclone season ends in May then down to South Africa dodging the storms that run up the Mozambique Channel , a lot of closed borders and a long run but need to get going again , hoping for Christmas in Cape Town .... a flight back to Blighty and see my Kids would be a huge bonus , not seen them for 15 months now . Sailor Life .

To go sailing.

Not planning until last minute as too many variables. Hopefully marinas won't require advance booking and strict times for showers this summer.
