I put a shock treatment of Marine 16 diesel bug treatment into my fuel tanks, first drive out I had black smoke from one of the engines , could this be from the treatment? I dosed 100ml to 100 litres, normal treatment would be 25ml to 100 litres.

I checked the pre-filters and they were clean although there was some dissolved gunk in the glass bowl, nothing too serious though.

nice people

We are nice people. Give me a call on 01639 841669 if you have any concerns. A shock dose for severe contamination is 100ml to 100 ltrs and this will do no harm. It may release some biofilm that your engine will burn, like any other dust. Your filters are probably 10 microns and dead bugs are about 0.5 microns.

Medium contamination needs 100ml to 500 ltrs and for prevention use 100ml to 2000 ltrs. At £10 for treating 2000 ltrs of fuel you should not have to tell the RNLI (who use my product) that you broke down due to bug!

Thanks for the reply to this thread
I heard a year ago that the authorities are trying to impose all kinds of new regulations on products like yours.
The comment made to me was that smaller companies wouldn't be able to afford these new regulations.

Is this just a rumour?
If it isn't are you still going to be able to supply?

A couple of years ago, we had an attack of the bug but with your advice, we were able to clean it all up and we now treat with Marine 16 all the time.
You also recommended your Complete treatment which isn't so cheap but I ran a mix through our system.

Thanks
