Simple 50W solar panel fusing

I have a cheap 50W panel to trickle charge the battery when we are away from the boat via a single controller. It probably doesn't need a fuse but I'm "currently" going through the boat wiring fusing everything that doesn't have one. The question is, what size fuse and does it go between the panel and controller or controller and battery?

It does need a fuse Colin, between the battery and the controller, close to the battery. A 5a blade fuse should do you nicely.
