No, not an 'Alas Smith & Jones' production, but a one off by them, lasted about 20 mins.

Jones' character, (a non- boaty person) visits Smith's 'classic' yacht'.

I appreciate that humour is "in the eye of the beholder". But this brought my breathing close to its final gasp !

Anyone know the title and where to get it ?

I remember seeing it on TV, and wondering why they had switched obvious roles, given that GR-J is the boat owner (and has made several TV films about sailing it)...

Rhys-Jones wrote this piece. I think it would have been too obvious (or close to the bone!) for him to have played the skipper. I also suspect it was a bit of a piss-take of himself.

To me, this is very depressing comedy. Sailing in the 1950's not now.

Yes, fortunately we no longer have adverse weather, discomfort, arcane language, bossy skippers, reluctant spouses, bumped heads, mechanical breakdowns, . . ..

That was so painfully harrowing, I couldn't watch it to the end.. now trying to forget the skit, before it lodges in my memory..

That's great, been trying to find it after it disappeared from Youtube

Yes, thanks for posting that Richard. I hadn't seen that before; very funny, in a ghastly, toe-curling way.

Just think, with an AWB, they'd have been denied all of that fun !!

The links above take me to sites that want money off me , now or eventually, Amazon, IMDb, etc.

Is there anywhere to get it free?
I managed to watch the first 15 minutes for free on Dropbox. Didn’t feel strongly enough about the remaining 5minutes to sign up with them.

That's strange. If you click the three dot menu you should be able to download it for free from the link to my Dropbox account.

Certainly when I followed the link I was presented with an obvious "Download" button that deposited the video onto my computer in about three seconds.
