Indeed. Old shepherds stone built single room, or occasionally double room. Sometimes a fireplace or stove. Rarely an outside toilet often nothing.

Maintained in remote valleys to enable access to mountains etc, particularly in winter. Carry in your own fuel, 5kg a day in winter

A glimpse of winter heaven sadly like our sailing curtailed by lockdown. My only consolation is that I can get more hours in on my zero hour contract and thus afford lighter kit for walking/climbing more suited to our ageing frames, though its a pity they cant make lighter coal for fires, and a new non-refurbished engine for our boat, so when we do escape we will be better set up
