Yesterday evening I decided to take the rib around to visit the MOOSE. It needed a bit of air so I pumped it up, jumped onboard and zoomed down to MooseMooring. On the way there I noticed that one side of the dingy was a bit creased, it was going down!!! So I found an empty mooring, killed the engine, switched off the feul and lifted it onto the pontoon. Luckily I hadn't bothered putting the pump away and still had it with me so pumped it up and started investigating by dipping it in the water and looking for bubbles. I then hear a cry 'Theres a dingy in our pontoon!!' So I jump on board start the engine and head back to my pontoon. Slap bang in the middle of the channel and the engine dies..... I only have one paddle as the other jumped ship a while back and I can't get a replacement. SO I'm up the channel without a paddle with a dead engine and a dingy thats going down!!! 'I know!!!' I thought 'I'll turn the fuel on' So after 15 minutes and a very flat dingy later I and back hanging off my davits safe at last!!!

Hmmm. Sounds familiar. At Easter I spent 30 mins turning over the outboard, checking the fuel lines, etc etc etc. Then remembered that it starts better if you plug the kill cord in........

i paddled two miles after my brother put the fuel tank on the line. he was then asked to check it and did.

i chased him up the beach with the paddle when i discovered the tank on the line, despite his assurance, having got the boat on the trailer.
not only this but i had discovered that morning he had caught sea bass and used them to bait the lobster pots.
