Think they went out of business some years ago, used to be based in Tewkesbury or there abouts.

Might be worth giving Jaykay a call. They used to be dealers for Shakespere and still deal in the boats when they come up for sale. Dunno if this helps

I would buy your boat if it was nearer my budget, would you consider offers....say 60k less than its asking price!

Happy to consider offers, Barry. There you go, I've considered it. I'll let you know.

Thanks for the JayKay thing - a friend is toying with the idea of Shakespeare 650. From what I know, they're are very fast, but do they make useful skiboats, do you know?

Wasn't Bill Shakespeare a water ski man and his boats used mainly for that purpose? I expect Byron will know more, but pretty sure that's right. So should be ideal for the purpose.

They've got this one in at the moment here. Can't see why you couldn't use it for skiing and water toys, altough 50 odd mph might be a bit fast for a ringo!

Shakespeare are still in business - I don't know about a website but their phone number is 01299 250685.

I would think that a 650 would be ideal for skiing.

They are fast - the recent designs were by Lorne Campbell IIRC

Water ski man

Correct, though he was sadly killed in a racing accident in (?) Bristol Docks.

Not only will Byron know about him but I seem to recall him mentioning once that he was a friend of his.

I think you will find that the most recent designs were by Victory Marine in Italy. Lorne Campbell did indeed do design work for them, the rather strange 960 was one of his, as well as the Hydracat.

They are still in business, but they now do the mouldings for Revenger Ribs, as well as building a rib of their own.

The early 650 was based on a Mike Ring design, note the prominent spray rails at the bow, whilst I believe the Mk 2 version was a new design. IMHO of course.
