Has anyone spent any time on any of the key largo range? especially the key largo 26/27?

They look pretty good to me from a boat show viewing, but just wondering if anyone has any real world experience?

Awesome boats, great hull, great design features and good looking. A very usable Med style day boat/overnighter. Although the console gives good protection for two, it is not really suited to UK. Be wary of the thirsty twin outboards though. Consider an evinrude ETEC.

Thanks for the opinions so far, this would be used in the med, and would probably be single engined for the lower maintenance costs.

Do they handle well? slice through the chop well and not slam much, its all relative I know.

I dont want something that feels like a bus , if you know waht I mean. For reference I used to drive a sealine s34 and that felt like a bus, slow, ponderous etc, but a windy 37 I've driven feels sharp ,sporty.

I'm looking for sharp and sporty, but also practical, cost effective etc.

If you want sporty, tight turning and responsive feeling ...... then you need the twin engine. The single will always seem a bit ponderous (though very capable) and to be honest how often will you actually be throwing her about? Will you not mainly be just using her to go from the Marina to a Beach or anchorage and back....as a sunbathing platform?

As for the Hull, they are relative deep V with a flared bow which means good in a chop, keep you nice and dry in most conditions.

The wife wants it as a sunbathing platform, I want to have a bit of fun getting to the place.

I currently have a 21 foot sea ray which is fine in terms of sportyness, but doesnt handle the bigger chop too well, and is a bit lacking in space, so as long as whatever replaces it is similar in sporty feel to the sea ray all is well.

I'm just using the sealine as an example of a boat I found pretty tedious to drive, maybe it was just underpowered, but the hull felt 'slow'.

i really liked the look of the Key largo i saw at the boat show a year of so ago! looks really robust but no direct user experience im afraid! seem to recall they were pretty pricey in comparison to others tho...

how about going the full mile and getting yourself a Hunton? perfect day boat / overnighter with sun pad, toilet, berth, galley and performance to beat just about everything on the water!

The Seesa Key largo fits perfect. Also consider Cap Camarat 8.5WA

and Beneteau 850 Sun Deck (same hull)

or on a slightly different tangent a new Cranchi Enduro 30:

or my favourite, a used Cranchi 27/28CSL.

Great segment of the market to be looking! Have been doing the same thing as one option is to replace current (centre console now sold) with a sub 10m one and keep my yacht....

It needs to fit on a 7m mooring, they'll allow up to 7.7 - 8m absolute max, but at 8m it'll be extremely tight to get in/out

You'll always have to obey the weather. Chop and even large chop will take a pretty deep V-hull and length to stay comfortable, at least a deep bow.

Not many of the southern designs offer this, but if you look for offshore performance hulls you'll get the picture (although you may not be buying one of these, it may inspire :))

By Sea Ray this kind is called Pachanga. Another Brunswick brand of these properties is Baja.

Think Cranchi (Italy) and others may have something down that line..
