Hi, I have recently purchased a Senior 31 as those who read my earlier post on engines will know and the deck has been completely ripped out due the last owner trying to lower the floor and never finishing. What I need help with is the beams that support the floor so I have the following questions that I hope someone can help me with:-

1. How are the beams joined to the hull and supported in the middle of the deck
2. Are the beams fibre glassed in or if not has anyone done this
3. Does anyone have any pictures of their princess 32, Project 31 or Senior 31 that would help me restore the aft deck.

I would be very grateful of any information on how to rebuild the aft deck as I have no pictures as to what it was like previously.

Thanks Baz

There are four beams fitted to the bulk-heads fore and aft with the centre two stepped off the tank fixing beams to reduce flex, two of these are behind the sides and not visible in the pictures.
The cross beams are hung from these, and the bulk-heads are glassed into the hull.

Thanks you. I had a feeling they were probably glassed to the hull. I was thinking of glassing the entire beams to give them added protection.

Thanks Baz

Fibre glassing the lot sounds a bit OTT. A good lick of paint should be belt and braces enough. Mine are over 40 years old, painted and no signs of rot.
