Selling a boat - what\'s the proceedure?

Selling a power boat and I don't believe I have ever sold a boat before, so just wanted to ask what paperwork I need to do - for example notify SSR of change of owner like we do with cars? I would appreciate it somebody can give me the "heads up"...

Be different to all the other sellers, and tidy up the interior first.

Thanks - but was thinking of paperwork more than Aesthetics. Bill of sales, formal receipts, change of ownership doc's and that sort of thing.

You can print a bill of sale from the RYA web site and hand write a receipt for exchanges of money.
Don't know, but if I was the new owner I would contact Cardiff about SSR, to get it in my name.
Any receipts you have would assist the new owner to be sure the boat is actually yours to sell and will be a good start to the portfolio of invoices he is sure to build up. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
