Hi all,

I have recently bought a share in a boat based at Preveza marina (Konstantinos, a Bavaria 34). It would be handy to be able to store stuff like bedding & towels etc indoors to save lugging it all the way there every time, and it would be equally nice to be able to get it all cleaned.

Does anyone know of any such facilities in or near the marina?

Thanks,
Mike.

Hi and welcome. There is a small launderette on site with a tumble drier. What we do is wash everything the day before we leave, air outside off the aft deck and then fold everything into a vacuum bag for storage. Once the vacuum has sucked the air out it shrinks to an easily storable size and keeps everything fresh.
I suggest you make an arrangement with the other owners for each to have a "sole user" locker for such storage.
Hope to see you around next spring

It would be ideal if you are able to find a suitable place for it. I found myself wanting such a facility back in winter last year to anchor my boat and luckily I found these people( http://www.jiffystorage.com/ ) in Toronto who offered me the luxury of storing my boat through winter at a reasonable cost. I hope you are able to find someone similar.

Good evening. We're in Preveza at Aktio, in common with all the yards at our side of the water there are washing machines and drying facilities on site. In Preveza itself try Preveza Yacht Services who will wash and (or) dry washing by the load at very sensible prices. We store everything on board in the yard. To ensure any damp,is kept at bay we leave baby disposible nappies open at the open doors of cupboards and wardrobes. Never had any damp issues as a result. Enjoy the Bav. 34 - a sister ship of our own!

I think it depends on where you've got your boat docked. There are usually storage facilities around the area to marinas right? Otherwise I agree with getting the owner to set up personalised locker units. Makes sense and benefits all the other people who have a share in the boat too.
