Cana gone post a link to a security camera with WiFi that I could also see on my iPad for docking dome style something cheap

There are lots of cheap security cameras with WiFi available from the likes of Temu or Aliexpress. They will work with most phones and tablets. The ones of which I know work off 240v are for domestic terrestrial use and can be located out of the worst of the weather. The other issue is are they sufficiently waterproof for the marine environment.

Unless your yacht is large they seem unnecessary. And if you yacht is large it might be better to post your thread on the MoBo section of the forum.

Try checking your thread before you post - I simply did not understand your first words and maybe elaborate on the location.

You can buy a camera that backs up to an sd card, gives you an alert (via Wi-Fi) immediately if it detects movement, can also sound an alarm and gives two way communication so you can talk to whomsoever passes the lens.

Works via 5v usb.

I have many.

My phone will ping if I wish it to alert me.

Much cheaper than the Ring Doorbell we have.

Google “ Wansview security camera”.

Cheap as chips.

Needs Wi-Fi.

There are certainly better makes however. I have experienced this make and it lasted a few years and I was pleased with it; remote control etc etc.

If its security you need maybe this is what you want:

Fully marinised.

You think ?

The SEA.AI Watchkeeper
starts at approximately $4,999 USD for the base model and increases in price for configurations with thermal imaging and other features. Prices can go up to around $27,990 USD for higher-end sailing models that include advanced night vision capabilities

We have a Tapo camera inside the boat for security, looking back at the patio doors. There are plenty to choose from, these are all outdoor ;

https://uk.store.tapo.com/collections/outdoor-security-camera?page=1 Some are 240V, some 9V (can use these with a cheap DC-DC converter) and some battery ones. Better prices if you search online.

On the underside of the radar arch we have an inexpensive security camera that connects to the chart plotter, maybe no good to you if you don't have a plotter with video in.

On a serious note, suggestions for an outdoor camera and SIM card 5g data link so I can log in to the boat from my phone to see it’s all ok would be appreciated. Marina Wi-Fi doesn’t reach out to my mooring.

I have just bought a box of 4 Solar powered WiFi cameras with night light / IR from Temu ....

Laxihub PW3 ..

OK - I bought to mount round my house .. but being Solar powered - and not too big ... maybe can use on boat ?
Link states this item was discontinued. Do you know the make and model of the cameras incase they can be found under another link?

The ones that are on show seem to state “cloud storage” which costs a subscription and I prefer sd card storage.

Its Cloud and/or SD card .... but you don't need to activate the cloud.

Not discontinued when I just checked 1 minute ago ..

I use Eufy cameras in various locations including the boat, I have tried others and found them wanting, images/video saved to the SD card, up to 256GB and/or to your phone/computer/tablet.

Also has motion detection and tracking built in to the camera with no extra fees to be paid for cloud storage etc. which was one of the reasons I moved to Eufy as the ones I had before were costing about £35 per camera for cloud storage and "advanced" features like motion detection etc., when you have quite a few cameras that ads up.

Quick look around the saloon of Hunter a few minutes ago just to post up here.

Viewed and downloaded from my iPhone to my windows PC and then uploaded to youtube

Can I ask, how much 5g data does your camera consume each month? Assuming you use a 5g router to access from home…

Well, it is a 4g router and there are other devices on it that use the internet more so than the camera, so far this month I have used 890.88MB in data from the router with another 14 days to it resets, I have a unlimited data sim in the router.
The above 35 second clip used 6.3MB to download

Did I misread the title and first post or is he looking for a reversing camera to assist with docking?

Correct ... now try to find one to suit his needs .... it would be great if you could just take one from say a car and fit - but that would not be so easy. Maybe use a Dashcam with rear camera ??

Thre easiest way would be to use a security camera that sends out wifi to his phone / tablet ...

OK, so is this a new approach to PBO requests for help - difficult question, no easy answer, so let's answer a different easier to answer question. Interesting, but not much use to the OP.
