I have two batteries, start and 85 amp hr leisure.

I want to increase the leisure capacity.

Should a second leisure battery be the same size as the original ?

The second battery will be fitted about a metre away from the original; is this OK and what sort of (size) cable should I use to connect the two?

Is there anything else I should be considering in relation to this?

Thanks

Best if a second battery is a similar size, not necessarily the same.

If you are likely to use the domestic battery for starting or if the capability is fitted then you must use the heavy cable used for the starter connection throughout.

The distance is not good and a pair of batteries should be wired to offset voltage drops in the wiring. Essentially the positive connection should be made to one and the negative to the other. Particularly relevant with the long interconnections I would think
