SealSkinz

I fell for the advertising and ignored the price. Bought them as supposedly waterproof, wore them in a couple of big showers and got my hands soaked.

So, I kept them in the cupboard thinking I would find a use for them one day.

Today I wore them for a long bike ride. Five hours of sweaty hill climbing in totally dry weather. Got home with cold, wet hands. They were fine for the first couple of hours, but no good once I got hot.

So.......
They do not stop water coming in.
They do not allow water to get out.
They do not stop wind from getting in.

Highly recommended.

I don't recognise anything you have written there. I was wearing mine today. Despite the holes in them, they were warm and kept the wind off.
Actually, through the holes you can see the various layers. Ian (Hugh Foulis) witnessed this. They are also excellent wound dressings. Yes, I savaged my thumb today ;)

My socks are waterproof but it doesn't stop you from getting cold and you still end up slightly damp because it the outside is wet the sweat on the inside has nowhere to evaporate to even if they are supposedly breathable.

So i end up with cool damp feet instead of freezing wet feet - its an improvement!
