They were out today, showing off there new boat, here in Jersey,it@s a big bugger and throwin it about like a 16ft speedboat. It's a shame that they didn't take any notice of the small fishing boats that were almost SUNK!!!!!!By there WASH.

Bizarrely, Sealine got my business partially by being one of the few dealers that did return my call. I tried really quite hard to buy a Sea Ray Sundancer 240 instead. I thought I sounded genuine, but nobody returned my calls. To be fair, Cranchi were also v.good, although not having any boats for 24months was a small problem.

How much business is lost by not returning calls ?

I spoke to Sealine on Monday.
I will be in Southampton on business on Wednesday I said so it would be ideal for me to call in to see a 360 they have on the Hamble opposite their offices.
Great says the sales guy, no problem, we arrange a time. Sorted.
Then this morning he calls me to say he just realised he will be in Brixham so could I come along on another day.
No.
Do these people realise who pays their wages. Its the customer stupid. The sales guy should do the work to make the customers task of buying easier.
Not so.
Don’t the big companies teach their sales people anything at all. We bought our first boat last year and the lack of interest in taking 70/80k out of my pocket was staggering. I tried Sealine at the time and their indifference swept me out the door.
I tried again this week and their salesman tried to push me to another day to suit himself.
When I just said no, he said he would call me with the name of another sales guy who would look after me. Guess what, no call.
Seems to me it is just to easy for these people to sell boats at the moment. No need to make any effort and no need to provide a service.
Pity really because we did day skipper practical with Sealine school and DSC all in the same week and it was really good. Training great, Sales..............pathetic.

I love the boats but I have never found the local Sealine salesman even remotely helpful, which is a great shame. I bought my Sealine from the Bayliner agent that I have always found very helpful. I have since found a very helpful Service Manager at the Sealine dealer and they have done some work on my boat which I am very pleased with, I would buy a boat from the Service Manager, but not sales.

I have contacted the factory a few times and they have been Very helpful.

maybe it's the geography coz i went in to moody (across the road from sealine) last weekend wanting to spend £200k. First I had to wait for the salesman to finish his fag outside and then when he did come in the office he coughed and spluttered all over my wife and I for ten minutes until it all became too much and we left. It would be interesting to know how much one does have to spend the attract their attention - £1m maybe?

OoPs. Sorry to hear that Rich.
We did have a great weeks training with Sealine school out of the Hamble on our own boat. Great DSC with Julie(Powerskipper) as well. Both were professional and well presented, just good training.
Thier sales just dont seem interested though.
Strange the different approach though, it must be down to individuals in the various locations.
I expected problems from the school but got none.
I hoped for support from sales in helping me spend some more money but got none (as I expected).
Guess where I will not be spending it?
Just think what they could do if they had half an idea.

Don't get me started. I have threatened to go legal 3 times so far, and have had to ask that the 'salesman' we dealt with be removed from the equation, as I found pathological lying and insulting the customer's intelligence to be a little wearing.

Such a shame, as we love the boat. I have asked for a formal response to the issues we have repeatedly raised with them, as a way for them to attempt to redeem themselves, but apparently my business doesn't warrant such a response, from either the Sales Director, Service Director or MD.

You may guess which marque will not be on my next shortlist, of course.

My experience with Sealine at Brixham was exemplary when I bought my first boat 18 months ago. Attentive, helpful, efficient all spring to mind. And even their after sales service was good whenever I had a query or needed something sorting.

I also did my Day Skipper with Sealine Sea School last year - again, excellent (although it was run by a contracted trainer rather than staff). In fact, I was so impressed I am having a "refresher" day with him today on the new boat.

But this experience contrasts with my recent purchase - My Fairline was one of their more expensive boats but they never returned my calls, lied, shrugged their shoulders when I was unhappy about something, broke promises, failed to produce proper paperwork without prompting, etc, etc, etc.I frequently had to speak to the MD to sort the salesman - frankly I get better service buying a bag of frozen peas from my local village shop!

Before buying ours we looked at loads and spoke to 14 brokers, Sealine staff etc. The most helpful of all these was Sealine dealers Prossers of Glasgow who were fantastic. Very courteous and extremely helpful in every respect. The boss even phoned me because his engineer complained that our boat was not clean enough when delivered. The boss apologised and credited us with a free lift out and winter service!!This firm by the way are the No 1 Sealine Dealers worldwide and outsell the rest of them at the big boat shows. Could be the Glasgow accent - no... Must be the service they give before and after the sale. Roy

Interesting that, we visited Swanwick 3 years ago to buy our first boat, poss an S24, put shortly got treated like rubbish so left within 15minutes. Went down the road same day and bought Searay225. 1 year later decided wanted bigger boat with Aft Cabin, so limited choice. SWMBO vowed not to go back to Sealine so looked at all other Flybridge/Aft Cab combos. However for us F43 still looked easiest on the eye so very reluctantly returned to Swanick.

Totally different scenario, the Sales guy we met that time was a delight and continued to be so through delivery and beyond. However our friends have recently returned to trade up their S41 for a 48, did a deal until it was taken to new Sales Boss (ex Sunseeker) who then advised they must lose £60k on 12month old boat, so they walked. As has the very genial Sales Guy we dealt with! Wonder why?? Looks like a Grand Banks next for me then!!

ps. The F43 is truly one hell of a good piece of kit IMHO and would take a lot to be bettered, such a shame if people are dissuaded from Sealine by attitude, as products seem top hole.

That's disgracefull, maybe he knows something the rest of us don't.
I am really glad I never bought one. The drives go pop and apparantly sea keeping is a bit dubious, chine walking I hear. Anyway I am glad Sealine ignored my recent call , but cannot fault the original service I got from Brixham when I bought the 330 and I really enjoyed the Boat - no criticism there.
