It's ironic Dave, when it's a buyers market and you cannot find the boat you want.....!
Just as an aside, we sold our S48 in May of this year, having decided to get out of boating after some 20 years. I can concur the S48 is a very fine sea boat. It's heavily built, roomy, has standard genny (many have aircon too), and dismisses any rough sea with aplomb. Also they are fitted with my favourite mid size Volvos (TAMD 74/75's) - these fabulous engines are smooth and seemingly reliable - a relaxed 2000rpm gives 21 knots on a clean bottom, and according to our fuel meters, it used around 22/23 GPH at that speed. When we tested ours (2001 model) three years ago, it was in a F5/6 off Brighton, and I was completely gobsmacked by its ability in such awful conditions. Wife liked it too, especially the side cockpit door which allowed safe/easy access to the deck putting fenders out etc. MBY did a secondhand test of an S48 last year in which it came out very well indeed - this article cleared the five or six S48's on the market pretty quickly (including ours). However, if you do find a nice one, it's to be recommended.

Ouch thats a lot of money for that boat 145k seems about right now for that kind of boat.

Hi Paul - good to "speak"! No boat now, so able to spend a lot more time flying!!

This particular S48 does seem expensive on the face of it, but it is a 2005 boat, low hours (275) and well specced. In the current market, it's certainly worth an offer, or at least a discussion I would have thought, though I don't know what the budget is of course.

Yep, had a look at it today. Only just arrived and awaiting prep but looked okay. Stock boat and it was the one that was previously listed with James Dickens.

I looked over it this year at start of season it was out of the water at Hythe marina and looked a very nice boat, I love the aft cabin.

Looks like the owners done a deal then on a partex with James Frazer, or is it a snatchback??

NYA seem to have bucked the trend and sold quite a few boats at the tail end of the season. Chatting to the guy who showed us round today they were in need of some stock boats and bought the S43, a Storebro and a simply huge and very nice looking Princess V58 which is James own boat.

We are keen on the S41/42/43 (as you know) but the 43 is probably out as they tend to be a bit too pricey. I also suspect that James will have had the deal on th 43!!!

Just noticed that I am nearly at the 1000 post mark. Only taken me nine years to get there!!!

The v58 was at shamrock quay it was bought less than half the screen price as the owner had to pay the tax man I heard, really cheap boat but let's face it in this climate it's has to be. When dealers are just buying boats in for stock the owners have to be really desperate, it's def a buyers Market for sure.
