Don't know where the original has gone!
We are seriously considering one of the above. Any information, comments etc appreciated. We are looking to buy second hand, any knowledge of available boats also welcome.

Your original post is still there, just nothing in it.
Looks like a glitch when you hit the send problem. Could have been a connectivity problem

I didnt see the original at all! We used to own a Sealine 410 (same as F43 but F43 has longer bathing platform) fitted with TAMD63P engines. Firstly, I have to say that it was just about the most reliable boat I've owned but part of that is down to the engines which are one of the best Volvo make - understressed low revving lumps. They push the boat onto 30knots and I thought they suited the boat well. You can now get 74 or 75P engines which must give 33knots or so
The best thing about the F43/410 is the huge amount of interior accomodation and the way the aft cabin is integrated with the cockpit. One thing I would say is that, if you're large and wide like me, the aft cabin is a bit tight although SWMBO found it fine. No question that the Sealine finish is maybe not as hardwearing as others; on our boat it was easy to scratch the lacquered wood and the carpet was naff although, to be fair, nothing actually fell off. I think the finish on the very latest boats has been improved. Another good point about the boat is the ease of movement around the exterior - you can move freely from the bathing platform to the flybridge and thats important for safety especially with kids
The F42/5 or F44 or 420 as it was previously is an aft cockpit boat as you probably know but it still feels spacious inside and, again, most were fitted with TAMD63's. Having not owned one, I cant really comment, only to say that I think the F42/5 is too small for 3 cabins and the resultant galley up arrangement ruins the saloon
I've heard that both the F43 and F42/5 are decent seaboats. Certainly I was happy enough with mine.
The one thing that bugs me about these boats is that I saw at LIBS that Sealine are still using string operated helm seat adjustment mechanisms - totally crap for what is now a £300k boat

Having helmed new and old of both types, I have not found One I did not enjoy helming etc on.
A good place to start looking may be Sealine' Sales , on the Hamble. They have demo boats and a few on the hard to look at, It would give you an idea of the prices and condition of secondhand boats.
hope this helps /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I own a F44, which is a very similar boat, just 2 cabins instead of 3. I love the boat and so far, it a 1999 boat that I have owned since March 2003, it has been very reliable and nothing has fallen off. The few problems I have had have been assoicated with under-use. When I bought the boat it had only done 23.5 hours in 4 years.

23.5 hrs in 4 years I mean why do people bother, spending all that money losing all the VAT and using it for less than a day in 4 years. CRAZY

Took delivery from Sealine of my F43 11 months ago, 190+ hours later could not be more delighted. As mentioned above interior space is exceptional and very usable. One thing we hadn't considered, yet have had lots of comments upon is how sociable the layout of the saloon is, 8 or more can sit around and chat very comfortably. I agree that the finish in parts is not as good as S/S or others but then at half the price for a comparable boat what does one expect, the finish IMHO is more than adequate and still looks as new. We run 74's on EDC's which are a revelation and she handles beautifully, from the experience I have anyway. 33knots is tops, 23knots cruise at 2100rpm. We also have a 3.5mtr Jet Rib on the back and that hasn't phased her at all. From your bio I can't see where you do your boating but if you're ever down near Southampton, PM me and you're welcome to come and give her a go.

We keep our current boat, Cranchi Smeraldo 37, in Denia Spain.
How do you carry the 3.5m rib, and does it cause you any problems launching?

Yes, you're right about the saloon. Seating on both sides plus the fact that the cockpit and saloon are virtually on one level makes it very sociable and Sealine know how to design comfortable seats as well

Simon, what do you think of Denia? We're thinking about basing our boat there this season

Sealine fitted chocks for the Zodiac onto the Swim Platform that are removable if required, only mod required to boat was 8 or 9 sandbags placed just fore of the starboard fuel tank to ensure "flat" ride. Atlas 1600 Carbon Fibre Crane mentioned in earlier posts makes launching a doddle, 180 dgree swing, then off the Starboard Side. Have launched in quite a swell without drama. Rib is a blast and has totally changed our boating, walks down empty beaches, river exploration etc, now all possible and cracking fun. Coupled with the F43 its made us both very reluctant to return to our business each Monday!!

Excellent - Only 45 mins from Alicante Airport, nice day cruising to the South towards Javea, Moirara, Calpe. Only 2.5/3hrs to Ibiza and the onto the other islands. The Marina is very good with probably the best toilet / shower facilities we have ever seen - they are like individual hotel bathrooms! The Marina is still being developed with new shops, bars and restuarants opening and a new Hotel being built. All services you need, 24 hour security and 24 hour fuel. The town of Denia is nice as well.
You will have gathered by now that we quite like it! If you need any specific info drop me a mail.

Re: Sounds awful

oh dear, lots of smugly satisfied people and nothing to complain about. BUT I expect that the sun is a bit too sunny, and also perhaps the water is too clean and shows things dropped overboard on the seabed. I imagine that the food is rather too cheap as well, which encourages one to eat too much.

Re: Sounds awful

It would be true if I was in the sun now. But I'm in Nottingham, it's wet cold, windy and I'm at work. Smug - no, fed up - yes.

Re: Sounds awful

Actually, the food in Spain, at least around Alicante, is unremittingly crap so, despite being cheap, its a good place to go if you're horizontally unchallenged like me. The other thing that is vomit inducing is the huge number of Brits there parading their lager bellies in football shirts four sizes too small
