Much cheapness . . .

Will they do the biz when required, what do you reckon?

Bought one a few weeks ago on the recommendation of a specialist supplier/servicer. Spec seems OK. Company (Seago) is run by a bunch of ex Plastimo (or someone similar) management, I understand.

Not ex. Plastimo but the guys who started and built up XM Yachting before selling out for large chunks of dosh (or so it was rumoured), they have the buying muscle and the contacts and the track record.

Yup, that's the lot. Knew it was someone in the trade, so to speak. Only issue with the Seago ones, so I'm told, is they don't have whatever approval you need for MCA coding. Do you know if this is the case, John?

Re: Seago Liferafts - MCA coding

And if they don' t have MCA approval - i.e. do not comply with the spec required for coded boats - then why not?

Re: Seago Liferafts - MCA coding

I do know this.....only I've forgotton! There is a bag full of stuff that you need for MCA coding which can be purchased separately for about £225 and which would complete the circle, can't remember what it is but they can be obtained off the shelf from Seago, Ocean Safety, etc.

I was asked to look into it a few weeks ago but it's not an everyday request, business boats. Obviously if someone has a specific need I'll go and check up on it again.
