If it has a mast and sails then its a sail boatWhat would make you say it isnt a sailboat? Out of curiosity?
I've got to trace it back somehow, it was a salvage boat, came with mast etc.
I'm new to this, so by all means tell me all you know,
I restore cars, trains, planes lol not boats.
I'm not sure if this is a wind up. The white boat in the foreground is a motor boat with a V hull. If it came with a mast you might like to indicate where it was fixed and how it was held aloft. Did it come with a keel too? How about a rudder?[QUOTE="Catalina36, post: 7179282,

Do you think??? I dont know if I'm honest,Looks like a Seafarer 18 centerplate yacht designed by Alan Buchanan.
It could be restored but the cost would be 3 times more than it will ever be worth.

You cant see the hullI'm not sure if this is a wind up. The white boat in the foreground is a motor boat with a V hull. If it came with a mast you might like to indicate where it was fixed and how it was held aloft. Did it come with a keel too? How about a rudder?
So by what I know (very little) is its about 17ft grp hull (no damage or blister) with timber top sides, has a keel buy no rudder, the mast is in the picture, photo looks worse than it is it's just the cockpit and cabin that's rot, like I said previously I'm not trying to restore to make money, I restore as a hobby, I am thankful for your advise though, in a fish out of water hereYou cant see the hull
What you can see looks just like the back of a small single chine plywood hull which could easily be a sailboat hull........ I'd say the rudder pintle is a clue that it was a sailing boat
The mast is in the picture too
Does it have an iron keel bolted to the bottom about 9inches deep with slot in it for the hingeing centerplate?Do you think??? I dont know if I'm honest,
Any advice on what it is would be great,
And to be honest it's not being restored to make money, its just a hobby I have, but 1st time with a boat
