I am considering chartering in the Baha/Sea of Cortez region this summer. Does any one have any experience or knowledge of the type of weather to be expected there in August?

The magazine Latitude38 based on the west coast of the States usually has lots of articles on this region. Try www.latitude38.com maybe they've got some archive articles you can view.

Go to www.sailnet.com and go to the forums/message boards and register. There are people from all over the US there and surely there will be someone who is in California thereabouts who can help you out.
If you are going there in the summer....you should expect it to be HOT. I have been on the Mexican border in the summer....Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and trust me....its hot. Not sure if it would be any cooler on the water....but I'm betting the difference in temperature will be minor.
You might also want to try a weather site to see if it will give you weather for that area.
