iv'e bought a 16ft oyster launch, just the hull. and i'm looking for a suitable inboard, gearbox, shaft, prop and fittings. you know the type of stuff, boat jumble things. well to save you taking it all to the jumble, sell (or donate) it to me!!

condition is unimportant 'cos i can mend it if it's broke. and i can collect it if it's near enough.

failing that, if anyone has any better ideas on engines etc, let me know.

thanks all, steve.

Be very, very wary about old boat engines which have been used in salt water. They tend to rust out from the water jacket toward the "workings", and there's no repair for a rusted out engine. If you can be sure that the proposed engine has spent its life in a canal narrowboat, or up the higher reaches of the Thames, OK, but otherwise it's just too risky.
Peter.
