Hi,

Stupid question but do you use thread-sealer when screwing a standard plastic Whale Quick Connect female adapter (1/2” BSP) to a brass male thread?
The female comes with an o-ring inside.

Stupid answer - quick connect are convenient - why not try it. Its a long time since I did similar plumbing, hot, cold and salt water, and when connecting brass to plastic I relied on the 'O' rings and 20 years later my faith has been rewarded.

and I refresh your thread.

If they supply an 'O' ring, likely that is the correct seal...?

But, in this case, if it makes you happier, then some PTFE tape won't hurt. BSP threads are tapered and used to use hemp and sealant. 'O' rings tend to be used in parallel threads.

BSPP is parallel, BSPT is tapered. But to be honest a bit of thread seal or a couple of wraps of ptfe won't hurt the installation as long as it doesn't stop the o'ring being active on the faces,
