Can't quite decide what to make of the Schooner Anne yet. Can anyone help me ... please.

I'm with you. First thought is, "Why?" Second thought; Why not just bring a few thousand feet of rode, sail out of land's sight and drop anchor for three years? Save wear and tear on the yacht, the sails, the equipment.

Each to there own. A few years ago whilst crossing the pond to bvi, we spotted a yacht on the horizon becalmed like ourselves. Thinking we might as well introduce ourselves we motored over, enquiring if there was anything we could do for the lone canadian sailor reading in the cockpit. His repose " yeah, P..s off".

Liked this bit:

"The Odyssey of the Sea Turtle: To prepare for spending 1000 Days Non-Stop at sea, Reid Stowe and first mate sailed a 6 Month Non-Stop voyage into the South Atlantic. The Schooner Anne's track traced the outline of a giant sea turtle creating the largest conceptual art piece ever made".

Sounds fun, but possibly one or two stops short of Barking. (That was for Woofy).

Maybe this should be posted as a follow to the thread last week "how to finance long term cruising"

Modelling!

I was tickled by the fact that he has only "selected" one crew member so far...

...and appears to have had to lash her down.
