True story of one Raggies weekend. No tittering please.
Friday - Small cruiser's forestay fitting fails - luckily whilst still in flat water well inside the harbour so no major catastrophy and mast stays up. Repairs pm.
Saturday - Crew visit a friends large yacht which is rafted up with another one on a buoy - water gets a trifle rough due to strong wind over ebb. Boats start to bounce around and hey presto BANG aft breast rope SNAPS!!!!
Both crews go ashore for drinks pm - return via inflatable - sea and wind still rather naughty - dinghy unfastens itself unbeknown to innocent matelots.
Later on, our crew wanting to return to own boat - "Oh fiddle sticks"!
Have to contact water taxi who takes these stalwarts on a search and dinghy, duly found on a mud bank upstream. Tow it back towards yacht.
Still very choppy so taxi struggles to come alongside - dinghy painter gets wound round his prop. "Excellent form, what ??"
No further damage due to there being an inspection hatch in launch so prop could be cleared.(sensible motor boat)
What a nice relaxing weekend !!!!!! And you think you had it bad Haydn.
