Sailing Yacht A impounded

So, it gets a free berth for a while.

Who knows how all this will play out, but I'm wondering - if this one and all the others aren't returned to their owners before long, how would they be disposed of? Who would buy such a thing off the authorities, especially if the original owners weren't chuffed about the situation?

I remember being at a meeting and discussing the old British cars we had owned with a Finn. We both had Princesses and noted that the passenger foot well was always soaking. We also had Hillman Hunters where the driver's door would fly open when you went around a roundabout (I had that one in Milton Keynes). Ah, British car design. Luckily the marine sector was better served.

When I first drove a French car each time I changed gear I opened the door.

Would I be right in saying that like several other of Starck’s creations (that citrus squeezer, the moto 6.5) it’s not actually any cop at being the thing it’s supposed to be? It’s allegedly a “sail assisted motor yacht” and nowhere have I seen any figures for performance under sail, unlike that other futuristic 3 masted sailing super yacht, Maltese Falcon which which I’ll suggest , for me at least, falls into the design classic category rather more than sy A.

I won’t deny that (Motor) yacht A is striking. I don’t even think it’s trying for “beauty”. But a sailing ship should be beautiful and Sailing Yacht A looks like a 22nd century battleship. Wonder what statement Melnichenko was trying to make about himself with it?

No. As Keats put it:
‘Beauty is truth, truth beauty - that is all Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.’
It‘s a dog and that is the indisputable truth. That you think different doesn’t make it true. Beauty is not essentially subjective.

Quite a few Austin Princesses had an additional set of creases in the boot as rear visibility was bad and the bumper didn't overhang enough.
