Not sure how it could be improved upon though!

Edit: Having followed the link I don't quite understand the website. It offers inscription but apparently no facility to apply request. In fact, I am not quite clear if the book is available yet?

Val Howells - the last survivor of the 5 entrants in the original 1960 Observer Singlehanded Transatlantic Race - has re-written Sailing Into Solitude, his very personal account of the experience, with lots of new material.

Good to know that.

By the way, does anyone remember the television documentary that was made of his voyage? I spent some time trying to track it down a few years ago but without success. If anyone knows where I might get a copy I would be very grateful.

The book is available directly from the website in hardback, paperback and two e-versions.

The inscription text can be input at checkout.

You can read a sample chapter in Epub format or listen to Val reading the first chapter.
