sailing in the med

there is very little wind here in the med. how many of the yachties who sail out here actually put up their sails ?

None! even when its windy they all seem to motor.
Although they all had the wind put up them last night! an Italian flagged mobo of abot 45 feet entered Aghia efemia harbour at 20 knots! threw everyone all over the place, when he tried to moor up and saw the crowd of angry mobos and raggies aproaching him he promptly buggered off !

..it's Italian month in Greece at the moment. Didn't you know? We'll be back on 31st when they've all gone home in their thongs, designer shades & minimalist bikinis.

Well some of us whot lernd to yot in the nort sea, when in the med we spread big uge sails and go very slowe.

wen it is windy there, it his werry werry wndy, an we jus put up our little jib and are the only peeps goin about.

Last 4 yrs of Med sailing we've never not put up the sails on any day - sorry, that's difficult to read.
We've had plenty of wind around Corsica, Mallorca, Dodecanese and Sporades.
Are you bored with Barca yet, now that you've been to every shoe shop at least twice? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Just back from 2 weeks sailing in the Eastern Med, and sailed every day, often with a reef or two. I wish I was still there.
