Sail repair

Has anyone come across a good adhesive to stick repair patches onto a sail. I have used the sail repair tape but am looking to repair with something more substantial. I would probably end up stitching as well, but at a later time.

use the tape on both sides and stitch it with zig zag stitch

A friend of mine put me on to the dodge of using Sikaflex with sail repair tape. I have tried this with some success but if chafe is likely it is best if the repair is re-inforced with stitching.
