sacrificial anode???

Can anyone tell me. Does the zinc anode have to be insulated from the keel band on a fibreglass boat? I have a 16ft Bonwitco with a stainless steel keelband and two scotty downriggers which are mounted on a wooden board and the drums are plastic? (double insulation or what).!!! Or is this irrelevant?

anodes are generally electrically connected to any metal fitting that needs protection. stainless steel generally won't need it but it will do no harm.
