The prospectus for adult learning and leisure dropped through the door the other day.
I see they do RYA Day Skipper 12 wks @ 2hrs and 5 Saturdays @2 1/2hrs for £63 and the Radio Course 2 x 4hr sessions £12. Both seem to be good value for money.
Then I saw the Radio Exam Fee £30. How the hell can the RYA justify £30?

Did mine earlier in the year with a guy in Broadstairs recommended by my Day Skipper tutor. £ 25 including lunch and tea/coffee in his house. £ 19 for the licence.

Sound like the same guy Peter is recommending!

Did mine last year, a saturday spent at the teachers house with 4 others. Course Fee £45 + £19 for the license.

Coffee and biscuits included!

This was at Pin Mill in Ipswich though... a bit of a trek from you i think!

Cheers,

Craig.

These courses all seem very expensive compaired to the £12 course offered here in the Yeovil area. It was the £30 for the exam that I thought was a bit steep, but if you take the total cost for course + exam of £42 then it looks like things even out around the country.
