We foolishly left the galley portlight open leading to the gas hob being flooded by rainwater. Three of the gas taps have now rusted closed. Anyone know if it's possible to replace the taps? The hob is a SMEV.

Those spares look expensive.
The first rain was only a week ago so the rust should not be too severe. It is worth having a go with some Plus Gas. To avoid breaking the knobs when applying lots of torque you could remove the knobs and use a mole grip on the shaft.
Fitting new valves risks introducing leaks on the joints so you would have to check afterwards with a pressure gauge/bubble gauge/leak spray.

The period of time elapsed was not stated. Maybe the window has been open a year or more ?
I was with Pessimist a few weeks ago during the hot spell and it was in use then. The only rain since then was in the last week. (their mooring is just down river from mine)

Thanks everyone. I'll use some Plus Gas first before lashing out on the spares. Andsarkit is quite right the stove was in use recently - sadly only one out of four burners. The damage was earlier this season.
