Great craic, I have one. Ridiculously capable for a small boat. I have the jockey seat which is better in the rough but I wish I had the seat setup you have for my kids. Is the Honda a carb’d motor?

Avon 4m?

I had 2, one with a 40 and one with a 35. Both great fun , very seaworthy and quick.

They make great boats, there is a reason why they're often rescue boats.

I’d be surprised if it needs the fins on the AV plate.

I plan to take them orf.

Yes, its a 2007, last of the carbs. I prefer efi motors, it'll do for now.

Great boat, but bench seats?! Better order your back brace.......

I wanted to be able to get Felix, age 4, sat in next to me, he's a bit wild, not to be trusted out of sight behind me! Lorna will be with us, we won't be going fast or out in blustery weather.

I’m gonna say Lilliput.

Indeed! No little people spotted!

I have an SR4 with a Mariner (40) as a tender (mainly for going to/from mooring).... turns out we're using it as much as the 'big' boat.... they are serious fun! At a gentle cruise (20 knots) i'm using 13 litres / 27 miles.... cheap day out.

In the spirit of sharing, this is my one, albeit the photo was taken some time ago. Built in 1989 and the tubes are like new although I will need to do some repair work to the spray rails on the hull. Its actually been in storage for the last while due to family etc. Also my brother borrowed it and somehow hydrolocked the engine by landing the boat on its stern, we fixed the 25hp 2cyl Yam but it was really too small for the boat, topping out at ~20kts. Used to drive these with 30hp 3cyl Yams and they were better but really these need 40-50hp, ideally with power trim. The transom weight limit is 100kg however which rules a lot of 4-strokes out (not the Honda btw). I am looking for a bigger engine for it currently and may have a line on a 2 stroke Tohatsu 50, which should make it move!! It also needs a new trailer which is hopefully coming soon.

Ben, yours probably has an intenal moulding as its a 'Deluxe'. As you can barely see on mine, the 'rescue' versions were flowcoated.

A point to note on these is the encapsulated ply transom (still a common practice on RIB's) - if people drill holes and do not seal them properly the ply can rot from the inside out. You see a lot of SR's with SS or alloy plates on the transom - a worrying sign. Mine has never been drilled however and Ben's looks factory fresh.

Both mine had the jockey seats too. Just seemed a more seaworthy boat.

Also had A framed for the lights and antennas. Also the flooding hull which made them very stable when stopped.

Deck space is a bit limited but great ‘toys’.
