RNLI Pennant?

I've just come across an RNLI pennant that came with my boat. Its actually a sewn number 3 code flag (red, white and blue) with 'RNLI' printed in the white section. Does anyone have any idea where it came from? Is it a genuine RNLI pennant? I was thinking of flying it at the RNLI day at Harwich in two weeks time...

Thanks...

Done a bit more searching and it looks like it might have been a prize in the RNLI Pennant Series races, at least it looks a bit like some that are shown as prizes? Does anyone know any more about the series? My boat was certainly raced in a dinghy/keelboat club by previous owners.

The main reason to ask is whether I should fly it at the lifeboat regatta? Dont want to cause any offence :)

You dont seem to have any valid entitlement to fly it, you did not buy it or win it, merely found it on your boat, therefore dont.

I was going to suggest you buy an RNLI flag or pennant of your own and fly it with pride..... but I cant find any to buy!
I'm sure I have an RNLI house flag, but maybe not

Thanks Vic - that's exactly my point. I dont want to fly it inappropriately. However I do want to support the event so I will see what else I might be able to get.
