RLM BUILD CATEGORY

I have of lot of information on RLM'S but nowhere can I find what build category they where built to.
A friend has safely used his rlm 33 Entice to cruise from the Thames to the channel Isles and I use my rlm 27 (twin engine built on senior hull) for both river and offshore in the North sea (based on weather conditions).
My guess is river and estuary category, but you can define estuary all day,the Humber and the Thames is an estuary but in places you may just as well be in the North sea

Can anyone help please!

They are far too old for the RCD categorisation...

but those old Senior 31 & 27 hulls were strong if a bit slammy in a seaway.

It's more down to ballast & stability which was of course variable due to the hulls being fitted out by a few different companies for differing requirements. Some were so overburdened and had such large areas of unprotected windows that they were only safe on rivers. However, generally speaking the 30ft plus models were safe for channel crossings and only restricted from true offshore work by their fuel capacity.
