RL80 - which CMAP?

I seem to remember my RL70/RL80s on the old boat used NT+ cards - confirmed by omega2's link.

I certainly remember getting mine from CMAP themselves here:-

I found this with a quick Google search byt the link does seem to have been recently updated.
Might be worth a phone call.

Thanks Mike.

Yep Omega has hit the nail on the head there. Decided the Nav upgrade can wait as the RLs are working fine.
Might try to find a compatible scanner and bin the Furuno stuff for neatness. Not sure what to do about AIS, I guess I can get a ipad/android tab with your open source and feed an AIS receiver into that somehow?

If you are looking for a Raymarine radar scanner, I have a 24" Raymarine analogue Radome purchased new in 2011 available (due to recent upgrade).
It was linked with an RL80 master& R70 slave.
Also have a Raymarine 125 gps.
Send a PM if of any interest.

Jez, I have an NT+ wide compact flash card covering Spain med coasts (includes Balearics), bought new earlier this year for £178, yours for £100. PM me if interested.

From memory the answer is that one rl80 models take NT and some will also accept NT+. It was so getting to do with the version. I'll see if I can dig out the answer.

I think that is a compact flash card.
These are the kind of cards that my old RL80/RL70s took.

Just had a look at the card in my recently de-installed RL80 and it is a C-Map NT+ which looks to be the spit of the ones in Hurricanes pics.
The e-bay one you are watching looks to be a different shape and type.

Not sure what to do about AIS
In your new cruising grounds, AIS will be the last of your worries, J - just forget it.
If you have in mind an AIS screen while crossing the Channel (let alone ATC screens!), you'll be pleasantly surprised by how unnecessary AIS is in the Med.
Mind, I'm not saying useless, before someone bash me, but unnecessary for good! :encouragement:
