Spot on Jan.
RSA members have a long standing contract with the yard, with a shed (hence the Burgee) and dinghy standing at the wall.
Access is by the hard, not the pontoon (no Visitors).
All in all, not a viable proposition.
Shame really, but with the pub closing, it won't be worth visiting, but it is a nice place to spend a night or two.

Nice photo...
I had heard that the Punchbowl at Church End might be closing, but are you saying that the Plough & Sail is also to close?
Is the Plough and Sail closing completely?
Last time I went there for a pint, they wanted to know if I had made a booking. Not very welcoming to "walk ins".
Shame, Paglesham used to be a lovely little community and just the right distance for a morning sail from Burnham.
A few years ago I picked up a mooring near Barling Ness and asked a neigbouring yachtsman if he thought it would be OK. He replied that it was vacant and that it was a privately owned mooring, so don't let the yard bandit try and charge for it. A proper old East Coast gent.
There was obviously some friction there.
