Genuine request for any useful help info I can have on "doing" an assessemnet for a regatta. I have d/loaded info from the RYA and whilst helpful, I need some extra help.
Thanks in advance.

I do not know anything about organising a regatta, but I do understand the requirement to risk assess everything these days. The Health and Safety Executive publish a brochure called "5 steps to risk assessment" at www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg163.pdf. Whilst it is intended for workplace assessment it does help to organise your thoughts, analyse the risks and ensure you write things down in a format which is acceptable to a major safety organisation.

Try and make contact with the Dart 18 class committee. Their annual regatta had the misfortune of ending up on the national TV news agenda a few years ago when bad weather hit the racing fleet in Weymouth bay.

The committee have probably dealt with the safety hurdles since.
