I have some dimensions for the rig of my boat, and I am wondering if any of you could shed some light on what they mean?

The Dimensions I Have are :-
"I" = 42.25'
"J" =13.5'
"P"= 36'
"E"= 12.25'
Can you please tell me what these letters relate to?

These letters are used by sail makers to define the basic dimensions of the rig: I: is the vertical from the top of the forestay to the deck J: Bottom of the forestay to leading edge of the mast, P Luff length of the main, E: Length of the foot of the main.

These standard measurements allow designers and sail makers to work various formulae to do with the rating of the rig.
