I get through a fair few bottles of this stuff at work, and waste galls me. (I never seem to run low when I’m near an AdBlue pump either, although I do refill my empty bottles when I remember.)

Anybody found a sensible repurpose for the old bottles?

I don’t object to humorous replies too. It is after all just pig p!ss, isn’t it?

Missing information is what size bottle do you have?

I contractor I use has the tops cut off and stored in his van shelves with all sorts of things in them, some are bulk plumbing fittings, some screws, some just tools. In my own garage I use screen wash containers, flat on their sides with the opposite side cut out, stacked - full of nails and screws and fittings. I have seen a DIY clip where a wooden frame has been made and the tubs are slotted in like drawers, just sitting on a flat shelve. On a yacht I sailed across the pond, I had filled many of the 5 litre screen wash style containers with water and fitted them under the cabin sole. Got a sailing dinghy like a Wayfarer, fill the stern locker with old containers as water tight buoyancy reserve. In the garden they can be used as cloches to protect plants waerlt in the season and as plant pots.

Also, remember, they are made from the soft polythene material that is readily recycled, so pop them in the plastic bottle recycle bin.

They sound like the canisters used for swimming pool bleach which once emptied into pool can be repurposed to fit under water but t’s to collect the rainwater -saves finding watering can each time . They can also be useful to cast concrete weights etc I guess.

Get 20 litre ones they make great weights for holding down tents , gazebos and awnings. Just fill with water and tip them out when finished. Work best with bungees. You can combine two ten litre ones

I cut the tops off 6 x 20 ltr ones and they fit nicely in one of the cockpit lockers. Used them to segregate and store stuff. One for oils and greases, one for bits of paint/ thinners etc, a couple for ropes, One for spinnaker sheets, guys and blocks. etc etc. Drill a couple of holes near the top on opposite sides and thread and knot some rope through to provide handles for lifting them out when needed.
