I need to replace the aft engine mounts on my 2YM15. I'm struggling to find a professional who isn't booked up for weeks, so I'm thinking about tackling the job myself. The only part that is concerning me is getting the alignment correct again.

Is there a particular method for doing this?

Its quite straight forward to do, it helps to have another pr of hands to move the engine whilst your around the back mounting feet ( assuming 2 fellows dont get in each others way). Look on the http://www.randdmarine.com/flexiblescinst.asp site for guidance on the principles involved.

I changed mine 6 months ago bought mounts from https://www.vibration-mounts.co.uk/ShowCategory.php?CategoryID=MARINE-ENGINE-MOUNTS-16 @ 1/2 price of the Nanni ones that are the same fitting
i was fortunate as the threaded pin was only screwed into the mount so only had to raise the engine a smiggen, @ slip the mount out sideways, i did 1 foot at a time.

Did mine twice last year, (don't ask) ok I put them back to front. As sailorman said it pretty straightforward, rear ones are usually harder than front ones. I did mine on my own using a car jack, but a small crowbar was more useful. Good luck

If you only have to change the two back ones, do them one at a time (as sailorman suggests) and it's unlikely that shaft alignment will be required. If you want to check, though, its simple to do (if a bit tedious and makes your back ache). Slacken off the shaft flange bolts and, while holding the flanges together with your fingers, check the gap between the flanges with a feeler gauge at the positions of the bolts. You want to see a maximum difference between all the results of less than one thou per inch of flange diameter.
