Facebook today reminded me of a series of great photos from the 2009 Winter series. I was shocked to remind myself quite how many boats were out competing in our class, and the 109s and 105s and Sigma 38s had their own starts....

Halcyon days indeed.

105s having their own starts? Crikey.

I have to say I am annoyed at the lack of prominence given to extracted results for OD classes this year but that's just because we're winning one of them I suspect

My first HWS was in the 105 fleet in 2006, I think there were 8 of us. Fantastic racing.

I think mine was 2009 on OMG (3rd in IRC1 which wasn't a bad start). I've done every one since either as crew, skipper or on the race committee and I don't think I have stopped complaining about it since 2011 but somehow I am still there every year. The races are too long, the course are rubbish and we keep getting done over by badly sailed big boats (and badly sailed J88s too these days) but we keep going. I think the first win was as tactician on Happy in 2011 and the second win the other week!
