Hi guys,

I took these off to send them away for a quick recon and now have come to refit them but something’s not quite right.

DPE drive year 2002

There is a splined spacer ring that seems to sit nicely in the back of the rear prop it also seems to stop the prop from wobbling. Then on goes the prop and prop nut, fine. Then on with the front prop, cone and centre nut, do it up tight and the props rub.

If you don’t use the spacer ring at the back then there is a nice little gap between the props but the rear prop seem to move side to side a little.

What am I doing wrong??

Did notice when I took it all apart the cone and the centre nut seemed loose, ie not much effort needed to get then off, maybe I'm doing it all up too tight.

Cheers

Peter

There should also be another "splined" spacer before the rearmost prop.

The length of hubs on DPs can differ. Maybe your prop repairer didnt return the same props as you gave him to repair.
My advice would be to note the part Nos from both props, and ask Vovo if they are compatible.

Peter, where do you want it mailed to.

Its not a brilliant scan but you can see it ok.

this might be enough:-

The refitting procedure is - thrust washer - forward prop - screw nut 70-80 NM torque - thrust washer - aft prop - plastic washer - prop cone - washer and lock screw 70-80 NM torque.

martin.
