Is the post on Yacht Snobbery the biggest ever? I wonder why this topic has produced the largest number of responses I have seen on the forum? I guess the size of that post says it all... snobbery must be the most imporatant topic to liesure sailors. How sad.

You're right; this sort of subject seems to have a horrid fascination. It may be because there is no right or wrong answer - a post about reefing systems or engine bearers will usually produce, not just the right answer, but a consensus that it is the right answer, in about ten posts or so!
