Re: So what have you decided?

Probably a little late for this, but...I bought a 750 fin three years ago as my first boat and my girlfriend's introduction to sailing. I found her a superb boat, very stable, comfortable with a fair turn of speed (we averaged 5-6 knots in a force 4-5). We had her out in one gale, and numerous times in force 6-7 with two reefs and storm jib - no problem at all! I only sold her because the girlfriend wanted a "separate bedroom", shower, oven, etc. Now have a Southerly! My father also owned a 750 back in 1979 to 1983, and my uncle self-built one between 1980-1982 which he still sails today. His family grew up with the boat, and they all seem more than happy with it. I found the fin considerably faster than my uncle's twin, although not so practical. The previous owner of my one used to regularly race it, and I understand do quite well (it did have an enormous hanked-on genoa however rather than a furling headsail). Whatever you decide (have decided), enjoy it!
