Can anyone help? Its my first time using Raytech software and I've managed to (from the comfort of my arm chair) add lots of waypoints and 8 routes into my home computer, but I now want to load these into the e series on the boat.
I think I've managed to export them OK onto a CF card (well there's now a file on the card!!) and I just want to know how to load them into the e series. Obviously there's a navionics card in there at the moment, but is it just as simple as one in one out, or do I need to be aware of anything else? Not sure what the procedure is for up loading data onto the e series?

Any experience or help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Raymarine do some of the best manuals in the business

If they are amongst the best manuals in the business, I hate to think what the worst ones are.

OK, I agree that Raymarine try hard with their documentation but, IMO, the information is all over the place. When reading their manuals, you are never sure if the bit you are reading is relevant to you or not. Most of the time the information is there but the more complex stuff is far too sketchy and the simple stuff too complex.

I recently spend over 30 grand on a system (a four display double processor G Series system) and only got the important manual on CD - they couldnt be bothered to print it for me.

Firstly, make sure you are using a Scandisk CF card. These are the only ones that the plotters read.

You have an option, take out the Navionics card prior to firing the unit up and relace with your card or if already powered up, go to the menu page and scroll down to the bottom where it says remove CF card, highlight and then follow the on screen instruction.

My choice would be to remove the Navionics card and insert yours before powering up.

Once your card is in, press the "Data" soft key and press the "Archive and Transfer" soft key. This will bring up an other menu which you can select using the soft keys at the bottom of the unit. "Save to Card" "Retrieve From Card" "Erase from Card" "Erase From System" "Transfer on NEA"

In your case press "Retrieve from Card" and you'll get another menu that will ask you to select from the list - "WPT" "RTE" "TRK" or on the second key it will say "Retrieve All"

Follow instructions and it will all work. Hope that helps.
