Raymarine C70 connectors

Does anyone know the following as l have the unit but no wires;

Can l connect an ordinary GPS to this unit, it has the screw in fitting on the end so l assume will need to change that?
The C70 does have NMEA and Seatalk connectors on the back, can l use either one for the GPS?

The manual suggests Seatalk for GPS while NMEA0183 for AIS but it could well work. You might struggle with Seatalk 1 GPS, I just removed one as it couldn't update for the recent changes and so gave the wrong time to the instruments, albeit with the correct position. There are various adapter boxes around for ST1 though.
