Get a berth in Coventry Yachthaven. In any case, what do you do if you get no response?
Problem would be that it takes a working channel and fully dedicates it to radio checksThere's no need for human involvement, needs to be automated on a dedicated channel. Record the received transmission and play it back on the same channel for the sender to hear. If zoom can do it the CG can.
We now regularly hear Solent Coastguard off the Belgian coast, which is new. I have been wondering whether they also transmit on the aerials of Dover Coastguard. Dover Coastguard and since the reorganisation Humber Coastguard have always been loud and clear in our waters

See post #28 (edit: post 64 says the same!)We now regularly hear Solent Coastguard off the Belgian coast, which is new. Agree, but the Walton aerial has been replaced by one at Clacton. You're absolutely correct, they now often transmit on other aerials.
Ever since all the CG stations became networked a few years ago, they have been able to share workload depending on the number of incidents in progress and staff availability.
So the JRCC (formerly NMOC) at Fareham have been covering much of Dover CG's area for the past few months. They should use the call sign of the station whose area they're covering, but often don't bother, or forget. Hence "Solent" CG will be transmitting from the aerials at Fairlight, Langdon, North Foreland and Shoebury.
Similarly, Humber will sometimes cover Essex and all stations north, so you'll be hearing them on the Bradwell, Walton or Bawdsey aerials.
